It's time to call it a day

Dear followers,

We are sorry to inform that we won't be posting any new entries on our blog.
Both of us are extremly busy with out personal lives at the moment and posting regularly on our blog is something we can't commit to anymore.

Money Tree

Don’t you LOVE giving gifts! Well I do……if I have time to think and plot about it. But making a DIY gift a day before the big day always makes me a little stressed.
It’s just that I would like the gift to represent how much the person getting the gift means to me. The thought behind the gift is CERTAINLY the most important part of the gift in my opinion.
Due to not receiving the invitation mail myself (husband received it but isn’t always as communicative or sharing as I would like) and due to Husband poorly organizing skills (We talked about it late in the afternoon on Saturday) and  Queens day on Monday (Shops are closed) we did not have a chance  to shop for a gift.
As I wasn’t that keen on robbing a sweet little tree out of someone’s garden I was thankful the garden centre was open on Sunday because we came up with the idea of making a Money Tree,….
This is how we did it.
We folded the money.....Husband will show you how....into flower/butterfly shapes.

We bought an apple tree and taped the flower money on to the stems.

And there you go.......a sweet richly tree....

It turned out lovely! No apples yet but instead money...... Een appeltje voor de dorst.....!
Dutch Proverb: "Een appeltje voor de dorst"
Literal Translation: "A little apple for the thirst."
Meaning: "Something you save for a time when you really need it."
English equivalent: "Save (something) for a rainy day."

Artsy Wednesday T.12

Interview Sil
We are so very HAPPY to feature this lady. Her name is Sil and we just love her sweet comments she leaves for her followers, the lovely things she makes and the fact she followed her dreams and now does what she really LOVES to do. This lady is an inspiration!
We thank you again, Sil!

Name: Sil-Zilly – but officially Silvia
Age:
Uhm..
Occupation: Day-care teacher and owner of a small company in Children’s Art: Met hart&ziel van Sil
Country: The Netherlands

1. Tell us why, how and when you started crafting?
As so many I had a creative Nan and mother. I was never bored, making Barbie clothes, sewing, stitching, and especially drawing. After a few years working in a day-care I thought it was time to look for another challenge and started my own little company with children’s art. It is so great to be my own boss and to make the things I love and the things I am good in.

2. Why do you love crafting?
It’s a wonderful feeling to make SOMETHING – it’s nearly a necessity. I am addicted to the feeling: of creating something. I can lose myself into it all and give my dividing attention to it.  It’s a nice feeling to know you never have to be bored!

3. What is your favourite type of craft?
Painting, drawing, sewing, stick and paste.

4. What is the most pretty thing you have made?
Memory-pedants for past away children – this is very heavy but also beautiful to make something for parents with so much grief.
5. Tell us what makes your crafts special?
They are original and neatly done. I love to make the whole parcel look wonderful. I make things that are fun for people and children.

6. What do you use for inspiration?
It can be something very small – like a picture or a few words. Or a colour- I can really get inspired by nearly everything.

7. What sort of crafting would you still love to try out?
Oh there are so many things I would love to learn: felt, crochet. Things you need to be patience for! And I would love to give my own workshops!

8. Have you got any advice for those who would love to start crafting?
Stay close to yourself and believe in what you make. Start easy and let yourself be guided by your feelings.

Fun days….no computer

What a few lovely days I had with Husband. Monday was Queens day and we had lots of fun together in town looking at the “attic junk” and the “orange people” walking around.

We had a few lovely days of sunshine and we made sure we enjoyed it.

But today it’s Artsy Wednesday….and today we have a lovely Lady we would like introduce so I am going to wrap it up so I can post this Artsy Wednesday! And it is a great one!
So stay tuned…
