Artsy Wednesday T.12

Interview Sil
We are so very HAPPY to feature this lady. Her name is Sil and we just love her sweet comments she leaves for her followers, the lovely things she makes and the fact she followed her dreams and now does what she really LOVES to do. This lady is an inspiration!
We thank you again, Sil!

Name: Sil-Zilly – but officially Silvia
Age:
Uhm..
Occupation: Day-care teacher and owner of a small company in Children’s Art: Met hart&ziel van Sil
Country: The Netherlands

1. Tell us why, how and when you started crafting?
As so many I had a creative Nan and mother. I was never bored, making Barbie clothes, sewing, stitching, and especially drawing. After a few years working in a day-care I thought it was time to look for another challenge and started my own little company with children’s art. It is so great to be my own boss and to make the things I love and the things I am good in.

2. Why do you love crafting?
It’s a wonderful feeling to make SOMETHING – it’s nearly a necessity. I am addicted to the feeling: of creating something. I can lose myself into it all and give my dividing attention to it.  It’s a nice feeling to know you never have to be bored!

3. What is your favourite type of craft?
Painting, drawing, sewing, stick and paste.

4. What is the most pretty thing you have made?
Memory-pedants for past away children – this is very heavy but also beautiful to make something for parents with so much grief.
5. Tell us what makes your crafts special?
They are original and neatly done. I love to make the whole parcel look wonderful. I make things that are fun for people and children.

6. What do you use for inspiration?
It can be something very small – like a picture or a few words. Or a colour- I can really get inspired by nearly everything.

7. What sort of crafting would you still love to try out?
Oh there are so many things I would love to learn: felt, crochet. Things you need to be patience for! And I would love to give my own workshops!

8. Have you got any advice for those who would love to start crafting?
Stay close to yourself and believe in what you make. Start easy and let yourself be guided by your feelings.
